In the context of the 2nd of April, date that marks the World Autism Awareness Day, Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation organizes between 2-4 April 2017, in partnership with the Czech Centre and ArCub, the “Beautiful Mind Days” film festival.

This year at its third edition, the event will involve playing four films whose subject is the life and the problems that people with autism and their families are facing day by day.

This film festival is a unique event in terms of socio-cultural, aiming awareness on the problem of people suffering from autism. By participating in the four screenings, the audience has the opportunity to learn how overwhelming it may seem the world around to them.

About the previous editions:

  • In 2015 we unveiled three special features, multiple award-winning: Rain Man, 1988 (director Barry Levinson), Temple Grandin, 2010 (director Mick Jackson) and a horse on the balcony 2012 (director Hüseyin Tabak).
  • In 2016 we offered the audience three impressive films: A beautiful young mind 2014 (filmmaker Morgan Matthews) Extremely loud and incredibly close 2011 (director Stephen Daldry), Fly Away, 2011 (director Janet Grillo).

This year, the “Beautiful Minds Days” festival will showcase another four outstanding films: Normal Autistic Film, 2016 (director Miroslav Janek), Autism Love, 2015 (director Matt Fuller), Jack of Red Hearts, 2015 (director Janet Grillo) and The Story of Luke, 2012 (director Alonso Mayo).

The event will begin on 2 April at 19:00 at the Czech Center with the projection of a documentary film – Normal Autistic Film. A production that refused to see autism as a diagnosis, approaching it as a fascinating way of thinking whose decryption requires effort and intelligence.

On 3 and 4 April in the Great Hall of the ArCub Lipscani will run following movies:

  • Autism in Love (Monday, April 3, 13:00) – documentary that shows the story of four adults with autism spectrum disorders in search of romantic relationships.
