PENTA (Paediatric European Network for Treatment of AIDS) was founded in 1991 and is a collaboration between HIV clinical centers for pediatric population in Europe. Clinical studies are funded mainly by the European Commission (through the project EuroCoord) of government bodies in some European countries, with the support of the pharmaceutical industry.
