Consiliere vocationala si dezvoltare personala, pentru copiii de la Centrul de plasament Sf. Filofteia, Campina

The Championship of Good Deeds, a fundraising campaign for social projects supported by the Romanian Commercial Bank through the Exchange of Good Deeds, ended in October. “Confidence in the future” is a project for children and young people from the St. Filofteia Foster Center in Campina, Prahova County that the Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation entered in competition in June this year.

Through the donors’ generosity, the project raised 3,140 lei. The money will be used for vocational counseling sessions and personal development through playing, in the benefit of the children from the foster center.

At the St. Filofteia Foster Center in Campina there are currently 35 children and young people aged between 6 and 18 whose only guides are the teaching staff (education instructors) working together with one social worker, medical nurses and night supervisors. The children are smart and have potential but are not aware of it and don’t know how to use and develop their assets for realistic future projects. Many of them are almost 18 now and will shortly leave the Center but are not ready for the life outside the institution. Most of them are confused about independent living.

With the money raised in the Championship of Good Deeds within the Exchange of Good Deeds, the Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation will implement two small projects, one for vocational counseling of young people and the other for personal and emotional development of the children from the Foster Center.

Children and young people aged between 13 and 18 will benefit from vocational counseling considering their abilities and their plans for the future while the children aged between 6 and 12 will take part in personal and emotional development sessions. The sessions will be carried out by psychologists specialized in working with children and young people.

The Romanian Angel Appeal would like to thank all 33 donors who, through their financial contribution, gave the children the opportunity to gain confidence in themselves and in their future. We would also like to thank everybody who spread the message on www.facebook.com/IncredereInViitor .
